I am no stranger surgery, but I don't like it one bit. I hate being still and the whole recovery process after a procedure. However, I keep finding myself needing more and more surgery and procedures these days. So, I thought I would start documenting how much fun I can have with them...
Adventures in Pre-Op...
Doctor: We are debating on the type of material to be used in your hernia repair. Do you have anything against pigs?
Me: I like bacon!!!
Nurse: You seem very calm and happy to be going in to surgery... and you haven't had any drugs yet.
Me: I am fun like that!!
Anesthesiologist: She's gonna be a blast to take under...
Nurse: I know... I can hardly wait!!
Me: Have fun while I nap, but just make sure I wake up at some point today!
Adventures in Recovery...
Nurse: You are waking up. How do you feel?
Me: Fine, but this double vision is super weird.
(Looks over at husband) Uh, NO!! One of those has got to go... I definitely can't handle more than one!!
Steve: Shall I go home and get the boys?
Me: Absolutely NOT!!! (There are probably many inappropriate words that should be inserted during this loving exchange, but we don't need to go there right now... 😂)
Adventures in the Hospital Room...
(At the end of the day)
Steve: Should I pull these window shades down?
Me: Sure I plan to sleep in, so it's good to have it dark. It's been a nice view for the day!
(Realizes I can see every thing, including people coming and going and wonder if they can see me? Then quickly calculates how many trips to the bathroom I made in the backless hospital gown... 😟)
Life is a journey people... might as well make it a fun one even if doesn't feel like it should be!!
