DeDe Does... Grease Stain Removal

How to get rid of grease or oily spots off fabric?

by DeDe

Pre-treat the spot with Dawn Dish Detergent! Simply wet the area of the fabric where the stain is and apply a tiny drop of Dawn to the spot. I rub it in with my finger tip and then rinse.

Another great use of Dawn is for bathing the dog and getting rid of fleas! I don't recommend using it around their face, so lather that area with baby shampoo first. This will keep the fleas from trying to run and hide there. Lather their entire body and let it sit for a few minutes. I don't know that it actually kills the fleas, but it does stun them so they can't jump around all over the place. It also strips the oils off the dog hair so they can't stick to it and they are easily rinsed off!

NOTES:Dawn is great for washing oil paint brushes too, instead of using the high priced "specialty cleansers". Also for dogs and fleas use generic dandruff or zinc soap. Kills the fleas and heals the dog's skin, a lot like applying diaper cream to a sore bottom.
