Fun activities to do in Costa Rica

There are many fun activities and adventures waiting in this beautiful country that we love so much.  I can tell you a few things that we've done and enjoyed.

We use TPV Costa Rica for our transportation and adventure package deals.  Doug and Sheri are great to work with and know the best spots to eat and play around here!  Just tell them what you think you might like to do and they can advise you in the best options, days, times, etc.

Lola's - beach - We enjoy visiting Lola's to see Lolita (giant pig), boogie board, watch the surfers, eat great food, drink amazing drinks.  Located on Playa Avellana it's a great spot to hang out and enjoy a touristy scene for a few hours.  I feel it's a bit on the pricey side, but it does make for a fun outing.

The Butterfly Conservatory (El Castillo - near Arenal Observatory)

Steve and I visited this place in June 2016.  Beautiful butterflies and educational as well.  Something to kill a bit of time if you need something extra to do in the area.

Vida Verdiazul - The turtle project (Playa Junquillal) http://verdiazulcr.org/

November 2015 we were fortunate enough to assist with releasing baby sea turtles back into the ocean.  The kids loved it and we were just so amazed at the entire process and project that this organization does to help them.

Pura Aventura 2658-0781  www.canopypuraadventura.com (closed June 2021)
(not too far from Playa Junquillal, between Rio Seco and Vientisiete de Abril)
We did a zip line and horse back tour with the kids here in November 2015

Parque Adventura, Buena Vista, Rincon de la Vie

We did the waterslide, mud bath & hot springs, and zip line canopy tour our first trip - June 2013.  The slide is intense and I am not one for mud and hot springs, but loved the canopy tour.

We did an adventure package with the boys in November 2014 on their first trip to Costa Rica.  I believe it was here at http://guachipelin.com/en/ (Rico de la Vieja)  That zip line was great and included a bit of repelling and rock wall climbing.  We also did horseback riding and some tubing down a beautiful river.  It was fantastic!  I saw so many blue morpho butterflies it was incredible!!!

Diria Coffee Tour  http://www.diriacoffeetour.com/
Steve and I visited this place and took the tour in June 2014.  Learned a great deal about the process of coffee.

Reina Chocolate - Tasting - June 2021 - Oh my goodness... chocolate... no other words necessary!!   Facebook Page
