2009 has come and gone...
I can hardly believe how fast this year has passed. It started off crazy and hectic and continued to spiral into overwhelmingly busy! As you probably noticed, I haven't updated this blog all year. I admit, I got a bit lazy with it. Most everyone we know is as much of a Facebook addict as I am, and it's so much easier to keep up with everyone that way, so the blog has been neglected. I can't promise 2010 will be better, but if I happen to find some extra time on my hands with the boys starting preschool... then so be it! Speaking of the boys, they are growing like weeds and keeping us entertained on a daily basis. They are always up to something! We've kept them busy with different social activities and sports like T-ball and Soccer. They enjoy being with their friends and playing games! They are excited about starting "school" (Mother's Day Out) soon and I'll admit I'm looking forward to the break! Danae turned 16 and became a Sophomore this year. She began playing Lacrosse and has enjoyed it very much. It definitely keeps her active! Her advanced classes are proving to be complicated and keeping her mind working overtime. But, she'd rather be struggling at a higher level than bored in a lower grade. She will become eligible for college credit classes this summer, so eventually her hard work will be a big payoff once she graduates! I still volunteer at Riverbend Church on a regular basis and have continued as communications leader for our Couples with Kids class. I also remain a Small Group Leader for MOPS at Grace Covenant Church and I LOVE my MOPS group! I went to convention this year in Nashville and had a blast! I do make time to enjoy all my crafting hobbies and the occasional girls night out! My scrapbook/craft group has developed a little spin-off and we now have a little knitting group too. It's been fun to teach others basic knitting techniques and watching all the wonderful things they can now create. I have created a few yarn addicts and hope to create some more! And if that wasn't enough to keep my hands busy, Santa brought me a cricut cutting system! I can hardly wait to see what new things I can make. You know me... got to have my hands in several on-going projects! LOL Steve once again moved into a new position at LCRA and is the Manager of Corporate Finance. He continued to serve as Curriculum leader in our Couples class at Riverbend Church. He will be stepping down this year, but I'm sure he will continue to teach once in awhile. He has enjoyed researching and teaching new and interesting topics! I think the overall class favorite this past year has been "The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers". It was a complete hit and the intro was definitely a memory for the books! Although work and teaching was overwhelming at times, he still managed to make time to hit the gym and even co-coached the boys' soccer team in the fall!. We are all looking forward to putting this year behind us and moving forward. So, Happy New Year and may you all have a wonderfully blessed 2010!
